IEF in the Community
The Illinois Education Foundation aspires to be a positive force across the state of Illinois by expanding opportunities for the state's high school graduates.
We will achieve this by cultivating a strong association with community colleges and four-year public and private institutions across Illinois, developing solid student recruitment pipelines through relationships with public school systems, and partnerships with businesses, industry and other social service organizations. Our outreach efforts include:
- Distribution of literature about our program to high school guidance counselors and community college advisors
- Direct presentations at high schools and children's charities
- Participation in scholarship fairs
- FAFSA filing help sessions for students
- A growing presence on Illinois college campuses
- Outreach to mentors and tutors through individuals and corporations
For more information on our programs, to request a presentation by one of our staff at your school or organization, or any other outreach inquiries please email us or contact our office at 312.920.9605.
From 1995 to 2005, average tuition and fees at public four-year colleges and universities rose 51 percent after adjusting for inflation (for private schools, the increase was 36 percent)
